Professional wrestler Rob Van Dam is stepping into the ring of stand-up comedy and will bring his show to Northampton's Gin Mill & Grille.

The brash, high-flying grappler is scheduled to appear Nov. 18, according to the venue's website. He will be joined by comedians Tom Garland and Matt Light.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

Van Dam first caught the attention of wrestling fans in the late 1990s during his run in Extreme Championship Wrestling. Following the company's buyout from Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Entertainment, Van Dam became a popular draw in the WWE.

In 2010, Van Dam left WWE and joined Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He returned to WWE three years later, before exiting again in 2014.

Van Dam has won 21 championship belts throughout his career, including the ECW World Television Championship, TNA World Heavyweight Championship and WWE Championship. He is a four-time WWE Hardcore Champion and six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Van Dam is the host of the "RVD Radio" podcast and his web series, "RVD-TV."
