It took 17 years, but Rod Stewart is coming back to Bethlehem.
The 71-year-old raspy-voiced singer on Aug. 26 will bring his The Hits 2016 Tour to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center, officials announced Monday in a news release. Show time is 8 p.m.
Stewart headlined Lehigh University's Stabler Arena in 1994 and again in 1999. He headlined the Great Allentown Fair in 1984 and 1992.
Stewart's hits include "Maggie May," "Every Picture Tells a Story," "I Don't Want to Talk About It," "The First Cut is the Deepest," "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)," "Hot Legs" and "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?", among a slew of others. In addition to his solo career, Stewart was a member of the English rock band Faces from 1969 to 1975.
Stewart was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist in 1994. He was inducted again in 2012 with Faces.
Last year, Stewart released his 29th studio album, Another Country.
