Illusionist Criss Angel returning in January to Easton

December 1, 2015

Illusionist Criss Angel has conjured up a return to his former stomping grounds.

The Mindfreak star will return Jan. 16 for two performances as part of "The Supernaturalists" at the State Theatre in Easton, officials announced Tuesday in a news release. Show times are 6 and 9 p.m.

Angel in January brought his "Mindfreak Live!" touring production to the theater. Angel's father, John Sarantakos, attended elementary and part of high school in Easton; his grandfather ran the former The Crystal restaurant in Easton. Angel's cousin is local restaurateur Billy Kounoupis, of Billy's Downtown Diner. Angel's name first appeared on the State Theatre's marquee during a 1991 promotional photo shoot at the venue.

Tickets, which cost $66 and $56, go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, to the theater members; 10 a.m. Dec. 9 to the public. During the members-only sale, there will be a 10-ticket limit per member, according to the release.

"The Supernaturalists" features Angel along with nine magicians, including former America's Got Talent cast members Landon Swank and escape artist Spencer Horsman. The cast is rounded out by mentalist Banachek, The Great Maestro, and his assistant, FiFi; French card master Stefan; street magician Adrian Vega and dog conjurer Johnny Dominquez.

The limited-run tour will kick off Jan. 12 in Rochester, New York, and wrap in Easton. The January performances will be the only shows featuring Angel, according to the release.
