Foreigner, Jewel among latest Sands additions

January 25, 2016

Singers Brandi Carlile and Jewel, classic rock band Foreigner and composer/multi-instrumentalist Yanni have been added to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center's concert lineup.

The additions were announced Monday in a news release.

Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, for Carlile, Jewel and Foreigner. Yanni tickets go on sale noon Friday. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com and sandseventcenter.com; by calling 800-745-3000 and at the box office, 77 Sands Blvd..

All shows start at 8 p.m. Performance dates and ticket prices are:

  • April 9: Brandi Carlile; $29.50-$49.50
  • April 15: Jewel; $35-$65
  • May 5: Foreigner; $39.50-$79.50
  • July 10: Yanni; $59.50-$79.50

Carlile's sophomore studio effort, The Story, includes the title track which was featured in an episode of the television series Grey's Anatomy. The album peaked at No. 58 on the Billboard 200 chart. Her most recent album, 2015's The Firewatcher's Daughter, is nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award for Best Americana Album.

Jewel's platinum-selling 1995 debut album, Pieces of You, spawned the hit singles "Who Will Save Your Soul," "Foolish Games" and "You Were Meant for Me." She released her 12th studio album, Picking up the Pieces, in September. Jewel previously headlined the venue in 2013.

Foreigner's catalog of hits include "I Want to Know What Love Is," "Feels Like the First Time," "Cold as Ice," "Hot Blooded," "Juke Box Hero" and "Double Vision." In recent years, the Lehigh Valley has become a touring staple for the group. Foreigner headlined Bethlehem's Musikfest celebration in 2013; performed in 2011 with Journey and Night Ranger at the Great Allentown Fair; and headlined Sands in February 2015.

Yanni has released 17 studio albums since dropping his debut, Optimystique, in 1984; 14 of which have topped Billboard's Top New Age Album chart.
