WATCH: Roi and the Secret People revisit 'Arizona' on grungy new single

November 11, 2016

Roi and the Secret People's new album, Truck Stop Sushi, has at least one pit stop in Arizona.

The latter is the title to the Easton-based group's grungy, powerhouse new single. The quintet this week debuted the tune in the form of a live music video, which was recorded in July at Studio 73 in Bethlehem.

"Arizona" -- which was originally recorded for RSP's 2008 debut LP Dog St. -- snarls and sizzles on the strength of crunchy guitars, as front-man Mike Roi put his pipes to the test, belting out a infectiously catchy chorus. "Drove all night just to get to Arizona, drove all night just to get to you," Roi howls as the rest of the band slams down the accelerator. The song crescendos with a fiery guitar solo by Ed Golden.

The rhythm section of bassist Glen Radomski and Craig Martyn ride a tight groove, one that is melodically accentuated by keyboardist Jason Hedrington .

If the energy of "Arizona" is any indication, Truck Stop Sushi is going to be a dish worth digging into and a ride worth hitching. The EP is due out in early 2017 and will feature two new studio tracks and four live, in-studio recordings of fan-favorite tracks.

Catch Roi and the Secret People in action this weekend at the Funhouse in Bethlehem. The group will perform Saturday with support from New Jersey's Wicked Hollow.

Fuel up and pass the wasabi.
