ArtsQuest shores up Blast Furnace Blues festival with addition of drummer Butch Trucks

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Allman Brothers founding member Butch Trucks on March 25 will headline the 2017 Blast Furnace Blues festival in Bethlehem, officials announced Tuesday in a news release.

Trucks and his Freight Train Band will perform 8:30 p.m. on the Musikfest Cafe stage. 

The drummer rounds out a lineup that includes guitarist Ana Popovic, keyboardist Victor Wainwright, guitarist Guy Davis, Magic Dick and Shun Ng.

Trucks was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 with the Allman Brothers band. He is the uncle of guitarist Derek Trucks.

The Blast Furnace Blues festival is set for March 24-26 at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
