Bethlehem rock duo Slingshot Dakota to headline album release concert at SteelStacks

February 5, 2016

Bethlehem-based indie rock duo Slingshot Dakota will celebrate the release of their upcoming album with a concert at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. June 10 and will include opening sets by Lehigh Valley rock bands Summer Scouts and VoirVoir.

Slingshot Dakota is made up keyboardist-vocalist Carly Comando and drummer Tom Patterson. Their album Break is available for pre-order through topshelfrecords.com. One dollar from every pre-order of the album will be donated to the Third Street Alliance for Women and Children, according to a news release.

Summer Scouts in December opened for national recording artist Echosmith at Musikfest Cafe. In August, VoirVoir opened for the Flaming Lips at Musikfest.

Tickets for Slingshot Dakota with Summer Scouts and VoirVoir cost $10 in advance, $12 at the door.

ArtsQuest also announced Friday the addition of the band Cunningham & Associates and singer-songwriter Scott Marshall to its 2016 lineup.

Cunningham & Associates, fronted by former Bethlehem mayor Don Cunningham, will perform a tribute to the music of Bruce Springsteen and The Rolling Stones on March 16 at Musikfest Cafe. Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets cost $7-$10 in advance, $25 at the door.

Marshall and his band Marshall's Highway will perform 7:30 p.m. March 23 at Musikfest Cafe. Marshall has racked up several Lehigh Valley Music Awards since 2011 and is nominated again for this year's ceremony.

Tickets for all three concerts go on sale 10 a.m. Feb. 8 through steelstacks.org and by calling 610-332-3378.
