Lehigh Valley represented at South by Southwest festival in Texas

The annual South by Southwest festival will have some representation from the Lehigh Valley later this month.

Bethlehem-based music duo Slingshot Dakota on March 17 will perform at The Grackle in Austin, Texas. Their three-day stand in Austin includes performances at The Sidewinder and Cheer Up Charlies (March 18) and Swan Dive (March 19). The shows are part of the band's upcoming spring tour of the United States, which kicks off Saturday, March 12, in Newark, Delaware. Friday is also the release date for Slingshot Dakota's anticipated new album, Break, through Topshelf Records.

Rock band VoirVoir will perform a handful of club dates in Austin during the festival, including March 17 at Hole in the Wall; March 18 at Super Happy Fun Land (as part of the SXSW Overflow Fest) and a March 19 showcase at the House of Commons.

VoirVoir will celebrate their trip Friday with a launch party concert, with Under the Clothesline, at The Funhouse in Bethlehem. Show time is 10 p.m. Cost is $4.
