New Sands shows include returnees Alice in Chains, Bob Saget

May 10, 2016

Grunge rockers Alice in Chains and comedian-actor Bob Saget have penciled in return dates at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center.

The two acts are among four new shows Sands officials announced Monday in a news release, rounded out by prog-rock pioneers Yes and "The Golden Boys" featuring Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell.

Alice in Chains' July 20 concert will mark the band's fourth visit to Bethlehem since 2006 when the quartet headlined Musikfest -- which they did again in 2015. The band performed at Sands in May 2013. Their hits include "Man in the Box," "Rooster," "No Excuses," "Heaven Beside You" and "Them Bones."

Saget previously headlined Sands in 2012 and April 2015. The Full House star will return Aug. 21.

Show dates, times and ticket prices are:

  • 8 p.m. July 20: Alice in Chains; $45
  • 7 p.m. July 31: Yes; $45, $55, $65
  • 7 p.m. Aug. 21: Bob Saget; $29.50, $35, $45
  • 7 p.m. Nov. 11: "The Golden Boys" featuring Frankie Avalon, Fabian and Bobby Rydell; $45, $55, $65

Tickets for all four performances go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, May 13, through sandseventcenter.com and ticketmaster.com. Tickets will also be available by calling 800-745-3000 and at the box office, 77 Sands Blvd.
