Run-D.M.C. is lacing up their Adidas for a trip to Musikfest.

The iconic hip-hop group will perform 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Bethlehem festival, officials announced Wednesday morning.

Tickets cost $49-$74. Tickets go on sale 10 a.m. May 10 to ArtsQuest members and 10 a.m. May 13 to the public through musikfest.org and by calling 610-332-3378.

Made up of Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons and Daryl "D.M.C." McDaniels, Run-D.M.C. is widely considered to be one of the most influential hip-hop acts of all-time. (Founding member Jam Master Jay died in 2002.) Their hits include "It's Tricky," "King of Rock," "Tougher Than Leather," "It's Like That," "My Adidas," "Run's House" and "Christmas in Hollis."

Run-D.M.C. was among the first hip-hop acts to have music videos featured on MTV and the first hip-hop group to receive a Grammy nomination and appear on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, according to a news release. MTV.com in 2007 named Run-DMC "The Greatest Hip-Hop Group of All Time."

Run-D.M.C.'s 1986 collaboration with Aerosmith on a remix of the latter's signature tune "Walk This Way" was not only a pop culture milestone, but music's first rap-rock hit. The song in turn launched Aerosmith's mainstream comeback.

In 2009, Run-DMC became the second hip-hop act to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, following Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five's induction in 2007.

Musikfest will be held Aug. 5-14.
