David Crosby returning to Bethlehem for solo concert

June 7, 2016

Influential singer-songwriter David Crosby will return in August to Bethlehem for a solo concert at Musikfest Cafe, officials announced Tuesday in a news release.

Crosby is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21. Tickets, which cost $49-$74, go on sale 10 a.m. June 14 to ArtsQuest members and 10 a.m. June 17 to the public through steelstacks.org and by calling 610-332-3378.

In July 2015, the 74-year-old performer headlined a sold-out show at Musikfest Cafe. Crosby headlined neighboring Sands Bethlehem Event Center in 2014 with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash.

Crosby and Nash performed in 2011 at the State Theatre in Easton. Crosby, Stills and Nash headlined Musikfest in 2009.

Crosby -- a founding member of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash -- is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee for his work with both aforementioned groups. Crosby, Stills & Nash's hits include "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Our House," "Wooden Ships" and "Teach Your Children." The Byrds are best known for their renditions of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" and Pete Seeger's "Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There is a Season)."

He is also featured in the Martin Guitar documentary short film Ballad of the Dreadnought: A Musical Icon Turns 100.
