Elvis Costello and The Imposters book Bethlehem for 'Bedroom' tour

July 19, 2016

Elvis Costello will return in the fall to the Lehigh Valley, but this time he will be joined by his band The Imposters.

Costello on Oct. 23 will bring his Imperial Bedroom & Other Chambers Tour to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Bethlehem, officials announced Tuesday in a news release.

Tickets, which cost $69.50-$89.50, go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, July 22. Tickets can be purchased online at sandseventcenter.com and ticketmaster.com; by calling 800-745-3000 and at the box office, 77 Sands Blvd.

The prolific singer-songwriter's previous visit to the Valley was a 2013 solo headlining performance at the State Theatre in Easton.

The Imposters features keyboardist Steve Nieve and drummer Pete Thomas. Nieve and Thomas were both members of Costello's original backing band, The Attractions. Between 1978 and 1984, Costello and The Attractions released eight studio albums and recorded such popular songs as "Pump it Up," "Radio, Radio" and "Oliver's Army."

Costello and The Attractions in 1982 released the album Imperial Bedroom, which included the single "Almost Blue." The upcoming tour will feature cuts from that album, as well as other tunes from throughout Costello's catalog.
