Teen bands sought to open for recording artist Flintface at the State Theatre

The State Theatre is once again offering local teen rock bands and singers the opportunity to perform this fall on the historic main stage.

Musicians are sought to open for national recording artist Flintface on Nov. 19, during the "Take Back Your Voice 2" anti-bullying concert. Show time is 7 p.m. Tickets cost $21, $11 for students.

Eligible performers must be between the ages of 14 and 19-years-old and must currently be in high school. Those interested must upload a performance video to YouTube with the hashtag #TAKEBACKYOURVOICE and fill out an application at statetheatre.org. Deadline for submissions is Oct. 5.

Last year's inaugural #TAKEBACKYOURVOICE concert featured opening sets by Counting Clockwise, Blind Choice, Rhys Williams, Julia Gross, Abby Illingworth, Alyssa Garcia, Beautiful Oblivion and Jameek Jones. Gross will perform Saturday as part of the Squaritage Day fundraiser event in Downtown Easton.

Singer-songwriter Flintface (real name Joe Scorsone) is a longtime anti-bullying advocate. He was a presenter at the 2015 Freddy Awards ceremony at the State Theatre.

Flintface's most recent studio release is Hope, which features the single "Army of Rejects."
