Lopatcong Township comedian's debut album cracks Top 20 on Billboard

“The ‘Sausage Party’ soundtrack must not be doing well if it’s one below me. ”

Comedian Glen Tickle has one more reason to smile.

The Lopatcong Township resident's comedy album, Yes, Really, debuted this week at No. 13 on Billboard's Comedy Albums chart. Tickle shared the news Tuesday on Facebook.

The album's placement edged out the soundtrack to the Seth Rogen-Kristen Wiig animated film Sausage Party. "The Sausage Party soundtrack must not be doing well if it's one below me," Tickle deadpanned Tuesday evening during a phone interview.

Yes, Really was recorded in May at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem.

Tickle said he received an email early Sunday morning, through his Bandcamp account, from a Billboard representative letting him know of the album's impending entry on the list. Tickle said he was initially not sure if it was real or an elaborate hoax by one of his friends. Luckily, the news turned out to be legit.

Tickle joked that that he was still a bit baffled as to how the album charted as high as it did. He did, however, add that there is more to how an album is ranked than physical or digital album sales. "It's super exciting but it was never a goal," he said.

Tickle has performed throughout the Lehigh Valley and in New York City, including the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in Manhattan. He also hosted the former late-night comedy show "Pretending to Be on TV with Glen Tickle," which was later renamed "The Nightcap with Glen Tickle" upon its move from SteelStacks to the Allentown Brew Works.

Yes, Really is available on iTunes and through Tickle's Bandcamp page.
