Musikfest 2017: Country sibling trio The Band Perry to headline Aug. 11

January 19, 2017

Country music trio The Band Perry will return in August to the Lehigh Valley for a headlining performance at Musikfest.

The group -- made up of siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry -- will perform Aug. 11 on the Sands Steel Stage, officials announced Wednesday in a news release. Show time is 7 p.m.

This is the third country music headliner announced for the festival. They join Toby Keith (Aug. 10) and Lee Brice and Justin Moore (Aug. 12). So far, the lineup is rounded out by guitarist Carlos Santana; Santana will kick off Musikfest on Aug. 4. .

Tickets, which cost $39-$59, go on sale 10 a.m. Jan. 24 to ArtsQuest members and Jan. 27 to the public through musikfest.org.

The Band Perry's 2010 self-titled debut album spawned the singles "Hip to My Heart," "If I Die Young," "You Lie" and "All Your Life." In 2015, the band snagged their first Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

The band's single "Live Forever" was used by Team UsA during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. Their other hits include "Better Dig Two," "Done," "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" and "Chainsaw."

The Band Perry headlined the Great Allentown Fair in 2012.

Musikfest will take place Aug. 4-13 in Bethlehem.
