Lehigh Valley comedy roundup: ManDudeBro announces final shows, 'Roast of 2017' at SteelStacks

After an impressive five-year run, improv comedy troupe ManDudeBro is miming goodbye.

The group announced Monday their final shows will be Friday and Dec. 29 at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. Both performances will take place at 10:30 p.m. ManDudeBro has been performing weekly at SteelStacks since 2012.

A post published Monday on ManDudeBro's Facebook page states: "We're thrilled to have had the opportunity to make you laugh & play on stage for 5 years. A lot of cool new projects are coming up in 2018. We'll see you around SteelStacks. Thank you for your love & support."

ManDudeBro is made up of Jon Lunger, Dan Maher, Matt Candio and Evan Stutts -- each of whom has also taught improvisation classes at SteelStacks. Maher is the creator of the annual Lehigh Valley Thumbs Up Awards. 

On Wednesday, Lunger and will perform their "Spoiler Alert" improv show in which the two funnymen will recreate, from memory, the hit 1990 film Home Alone live on stage. Lunger and Candio also star in the "Aliens That Are Ancient" live improv show. Tickets for "Spoiler Alert" cost $7-$8. Show time is 8 p.m. 

Tickets for ManDudeBro cost $4.50-$6 for each show.

  • "The Roast of 2017," scheduled for 8 p.m. Dec. 27, will feature comedians Aaron Alkasov, Kirk Griffiths, Roya Hamadani, Emily Poche, Glen Tickle, Richie Warmkessel, Ian Webster and Liz Russo poking fun at the past 12 months. Russo will portray "2017," with Tickle reprising his role as the year 2016. Tickets cost $9-$10. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley. 
  • ArtsQuest also announced Monday the return of the annual SteelStacks Improv Comedy Festival, which will take place Jan. 26-27 at the ArtsQuest Center. Hip-hop improv troupe North Coast and The Law Firm and 30 Rock star Sue Galloway will headline the 2018 event. Friday tickets cost $16 in advance, $19 at the door; Saturday tickets cost $25 in advance and $29 at the door. Click here for the full lineup and performance schedule.
  • Comedian Craig Gass will headline the 2018 "Dry Humor" comedy show at SteelStacks. The show, set for 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17, is presented and hosted by Easton-based comedian Liz Russo; "Dry Humor" is a celebration of Russo's own sever-year sober anniversary. Glass appeared on HBO's Sex and the City (as the donut-eating boyfriend of Cynthia Nixon's Miranda Hobbes), as well as King of Queens.
