If you live in Easton, there is chance you may see a contortionist or a fire-breather strolling up and down Northampton Street this summer. You may even see an obstacle course set up in the middle of city.

Those are just a few of the many possible attractions being discussed as part of the inaugural "Easton Out Loud" series, which kicks off May 26. The new monthly event will be held on the Fourth Friday of each month in Easton.

"Easton Out Loud" will include live music and events, family activities, art, beer gardens, specials and more, starting at 5 p.m. Participating Easton businesses and retailers will stay open until 10 p.m. during "Easton Out Loud" nights.

Parking at the city's garages will cost a buck for the night, according to a news release. The dollar parking rate will also go into effect at 5 p.m.

Opening night will feature performances by the Easton Area High School Jazz Band and Americana rock band Acoustic Kitty Project in Centre Square.

I recently chatted with Easton Business Association President and Mercantile Home co-owner Ron Morris about the inspiration behind "Easton Out Loud" and how he and other local business owners are planning to "turn up the volume" in Easton.
