Saturday free-for-fall: Five Lehigh Valley shows worth checking out tonight

February 10, 2018

What is better than live music?

Free live music, of course.

For those looking to give their wallet a slight break this evening, here are five free Lehigh Valley shows worth checking out:

Doyle and Lorenzo

Double your fun, and your pleasure, by basking in the acoustic glow of singer-guitarists Lorenzo Bubba (Dear Anna) and Jon Doyle (Doyle and the Deubs) at College Hill Tavern in Easton. Show time is 10 p.m.

Soul Folks

This talented folk trio from Easton -- a sonically alluring cross between The Lumineers and Of Monsters and Men -- headlines Pearly Baker's Alehouse in Easton. Show time is 10 p.m.

Woodsmoke

Trios are the name of the game tonight, including (mostly) acoustic folk group Woodsmoke. Their catalog of tunes is an earthy, rich blend of covers and Neil Young-inspired originals. Catch them at Southside 313 in Bethlehem, starting at 10 p.m.

Small Axe

Get your reggae on with Small Axe, whose ranks are rounded out by vocalist-guitarist Scott Harrington, vocalist-percussionist Christopher "DJ ReaLion" Long, and saxophonist-bassist Chris Goffi. The band performs at Two Rivers Brewing Company in Easton. Music, and good vibes, start flowing at 8:30 p.m.

Twin Ghost

Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter Twin Ghost brings his soul-infused acoustic rock 'n' roll to the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. Start time is 8 p.m.
