Listen to new music from Phillipsburg's Leah Marie Fuls, Bethlehem rockers Ruby Dear

Screwed by Ruby Dear, released 02 August 2019 They cut the cancer out of me Said "look here girl now you'll be free" But I kinda wish they'd left it 'Cause I've been flirting with what death is A little muse in the night A little fire in my eyes

Singer-songwriter Leah Marie Fuls leans into her country-rock roots on her new single, “Destiny.” The result of which showcases the Phillipsburg native’s strong voice and songwriting skills.

“I’m ridin’ and ridin’, I’ll keep fightin’ until I’m free / faster and faster ‘til I capture my destiny,” Fuls sings atop a slide guitar and chugging bass line.

“Destiny” follows the release of Fuls’ 2017 single, “Collision,” and her debut EP, You’re Never Gone (which also released in 2017).

Bethlehem power trio Ruby Dear has also released a new single, the garage rock jammer “Screwed.”

The song’s catchy beat is offset by singer-guitarist Jenny Founds’ intense lyrical exploration. Founds powerful pipes spin a lyrical narrative which examines the physical and psychological fallout of undergoing cancer removal surgery. Heavy content aside, “Screwed” is bound to have you on your feet and bopping along for the duration of the song’s four-minutes-and-16-seconds runtime.

“Screwed” is Ruby Dear’s first release since their self-titled debut dropped in late 2018. The band is rounded out by bassist Jesse Braun and drummer Jon Braun. Catch Ruby Dear in action at Musikfest Aug. 4, 5, and 8.
