Five area concerts worth catching this weekend

Looking for an excuse to head out the door and take in live music? Here are five area concerts worth catching this weekend:

ACOUSTIC BITE TRIO | 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, Porters' Pub, 700 Northampton St., Easton. This talented music trio -- consisting of singer-guitarist Scott Harrington, bassist Shawn Cav and drummer Dave Deubler -- return to Easton for an evening of kick-ass, acoustic rock 'n' roll. COUNTING CROWS WITH CITIZEN COPE | 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, Sands Bethlehem Event Center, 77 Sands Blvd., Bethlehem. Counting Crows -- whose hits, for those who remember the middle and latter half of the 1990s, include "Mr. Jones," "Round Here" and "A Long December" -- return this weekend to Bethlehem, with singer-songwriter Citizen Cope in tow as their supporting act. Tickets cost $49.50 for general admission, $75 for Level 1 seating. Information: sandseventcenter.com

THE CRYSTALS | 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. Check out a free performance by the famed R&B group -- whose hits include "Da Doo Run Run," "Uptown," "He's a Rebel" and "He's Sure the Boy I Love." Information: steelstacks.org

BLUES AND CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL | Sunday, Aug. 30, The Inn at Millrace Pond, 313 Johnsonburg Road, Hope Twp. The third annual event will feature performances by The Bob Lanza Blues Band, Brother Buddha and Slackjaw, as well as craft beer and food vendors. Gates will open 1 p.m. Music starts around 2 p.m. and will last until 7 p.m. Guests are allowed to bring chairs. However, pets and and coolers are not permitted. Tickets cost $15 in advance, $10 at the door.

BLOOD SWEAT & VOLUME TOUR FEATURING OLD & ILL, THUNDERKIEF AND OTTOVONBISMARK | 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, The Alternative Gallery, 707 N. Fourth St. (Suite 103), Allentown. Three rockin' bands on one bill. Cost is $7. Information: thealternativegallery.com
