Used Grooves relocating to Wilson Borough

August 4, 2015

Used Grooves is dropping the needle on a new address.

The store, which opened in June 2013 at the corner North Fourth and Northampton streets in Downtown Easton, will relocate in September to Wilson Borough. The new store, located at 2109 Freemansburg Ave., between 21st and 22nd streets, is expected to open Sept. 1.

Manager Brad Scott Smith says in an email sent today that scouting for a new location started about a year ago. Smith notes Used Grooves lost significant business due to parking services in Downtown Easton. The need to find a larger space began immediately after the launch of the store's E-commerce business, Smith adds.

Smith, in the email, praises the size of the new storefront and says owner Peter Ruzich wanted to keep the business in Downtown Easton, but could not pass up the new location. "This building screams record store. It's got a retro vibe in a new and well-maintained building with parking for our customers," Smith says. "We quickly outgrew the 1,100-plus square-feet we have in the downtown (Easton) location."

The new building boasts 4,000 square-feet of space, including parking, according to Smith.

Used Grooves is one of three stores in Easton which sells used vinyl albums, along with the Easton Record Exchange and Sacker's Collectibles.

Details on the Wilson Borough grand opening celebration are expected to be unveiled closer to Sept. 1.
