Dropkick Murphys, Frankie Valli and the Four Season join Sands lineup

November 1, 2016

Celtic-punk rockers Dropkick Murphys and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will bring their respective tours to the Sands Bethlehem Event Center, officials announced Tuesday in a news release.

Dropkick Murphys are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21. Tickets cost $30 in advance, $35 at the door.

Valli and the Four Seasons are set for 8 p.m. March 2. Tickets cost $59.50-$95.

Dropkick Murphys have released eight albums since their formation in 1996. The Massachusetts natives attracted mainstream attention in for their rendition of "I'm Shipping Up to Boston," which was featured in the Martin Scorsese film The Departed.  Their 2011 studio effort, Going Out in Style, debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 200, earning the band its highest-charting album to date.

Other popular Dropkick Murphys songs include "Tessie" and "Going Out in Style."

Valli and the original Four Seasons lineup rose to prominence in the early and mid-1960s on the strength of the singles"Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Rag Doll" and "Walk Like a Man." The group became the subject of the 2005  hit Broadway musical "Jersey Boys," which was adapted into a 2014 feature film.

Valli previously headlined Sands in 2014 and 2013.

Tickets for both shows go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, through ticketmaster.com and sandseventcenter.com. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 800-745-3000 and at the box office, 77 Sands Blvd.
