Legendary director Mel Brooks will visit Easton for Q&A, screening of 'Blazing Saddles'

Mel Brooks is back in the saddle. And he's riding it all the way to Easton. 

The 90-year-old legendary director, actor and comedian on Dec. 9 will visit Easton's historic State Theatre for a question-and-answer session with fans and a screening of his iconic, and influential, comedy masterpiece Blazing Saddles. Theater officials announced the show Wednesday in a news release.

Tickets start at $79 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, through statetheatre.org and by calling 610-252-3132. Tickets will also be available at the box office, 453 Northampton St.

Brooks directed and co-stars in Blazing Saddles, his hilarious 1974 spoof of Western films. Blazing Saddles also stars Cleavon Little, Harvey Korman, Madeline Kahn and the late Gene Wilder. The film was released 10 months prior to Brooks' equally iconic comedy Young Frankenstein, which also stars Wilder.

He also co-created the hit television series Get Smart.

Brooks' directing credits include such comedy classics as The Producers, History of the World: Part I, Spaceballs, High Anxiety, Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Dracula: Dead and Loving It.
