'Pete's Dragon' remake stars Allentown actor

Disney is taking a summer blockbuster approach to its upcoming remake of the 1977 fantasy flick Pete's Dragon, evidenced by the mysterious first teaser trailer that debuted Sunday.

Lehigh Valley residents, particularly those who live in the Allentown area, may recognize the film's young lead. Playing the title role of Pete is 10-year-old child actor Oakes Fegley, of Allentown.

Fegley has appeared in HBO's Boardwalk Empire and the films This is Where I Leave You and Fort Bliss. He is the nephew of Fegley's Brew Works co-owner Jeff Fegley.

Pete's Dragon, which co-stars Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard and Karl Urban, is scheduled for release on Aug. 12.
