Vince Gill, Johnny Mathis and The Piano Guys join State Theatre lineup

March 24, 2016

Country music star Vince Gill and Grammy Award-winning singer Johnny Mathis have joined the State Theatre's 2016 season.

Gill, who last visited the theater in May 2015, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 18. Tickets cost $67 and $62. The Country Music Hall of Famer's hits include "When I Call You Name," "Never Knew Lonely," "One More Last Chance," "Tryin' to Get Over You,' "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away" and "I Still Believe in You." Gill released his 15th studio album, Down to My Last Bad Habit, in February.

Mathis will perform 7:30 p.m. Sept. 22. Tickets cost $79-$98. Celebrating his 60th anniversary in the business, 73 of the 80-year-old entertainer's songs have charted over the course of his career.

Theater officials also announced in a news release the addition of Utah-based classical group The Piano Guys on Dec. 8. Show time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $79-$94. The Piano Guys turned heads on with their rendition of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" and reworking of "Let It Go," from Disney's Frozen soundtrack.

Tickets for all three shows go on sale March 30 to State Theatre members, April 6 to the public through statetheatre.org, by calling 610-252-3132 and at the box office, 453 Northampton St.
