Looking for an excuse to explore the Lehigh Valley's thriving arts communities?

There are plenty of fantastic exhibits on display throughout the area. Here are a few highlights:

ALLENTOWN ART MUSEUM | "This Light of Ours: Activist Photographers of the Civil Rights Movement" -- capturing the visions and voices of eight men and one woman who lived and worked in the South between 1963 and 1967, according to the museum's website -- is on display through May 15 in the Scheller and Rodale galleries. KEMERER MUSEUM OF DECORATIVE ARTS | This latest local artist spotlight features the work of photographer John Kish IV. Located at 74 W. Broad St., Bethlehem. historicbethlehem.org

MaGIK STUDIO | "Mind Maps" is a journey through the mind of artist Eli Albrecht. The reception is 6 to 8 o'clock and will include a performance by harpist Susan Spannagel. Location is 34 Sebring St., Easton.

MERCANTILE HOME | The opening of Mercantile Home's spring collection, "Metta Morph," is today. The collection features "art, objects and curiosities inspired by transformation." Opening reception is 4 to 7 o'clock at the gallery, 140 Northampton St., Easton. mercantilehome.com

RE:FIND | "Love is in the Air" -- featuring works by Andi Grunberg, Kenneth Browne, Devin Feely, Eva Di Orio, Michael Cabreza, Ron DeLong, Rick Hildenbandt, Femi Johnson, Francis Beaty, Egidio Galgano, Chaz Hampton, Tom D'Angelo, Maryann Riker, Will Hubscher, Danny Moyer, Bill Kreider, Dan Getz and Melissa Strawser -- runs through March 13 at RE:find's Gallery 724, 724 Hamilton St., Allentown. STATE THEATRE | "Sandra Corpora: Journeys" runs through March 24 in the State Theatre's Easton Hospital Gallery, Fifth and Northampton streets. The photography-themed exhibit "Thomas Kosa: Smoke and Mirrors" -- featuring what Kosa describes as "smoke artistry" -- is on display through May 6 in the Easton Hospital Gallery Annex. statetheatre.org
