Summerland Tour will bring Everclear, Sugar Ray back to Bethlehem

April 13, 2016

The annual Summerland Tour will drop a megaton bomb of Nineties nostalgia on Bethlehem this summer when it rolls through the SteelStacks complex.

The concert -- featuring decade hit-makers Everclear, Sugar Ray, Lit and Sponge -- is set for July 20 as part of ArtsQuest's Yuengling Summer Concert Series, held on the outdoor Levitt Pavilion stage. Show time is 7 p.m.

Tickets, which cost $35 in advance and $40 at the door, went on sale today to ArtsQuest. Tickets will be available to the public starting 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, through steelstacks.org and by calling 610-332-3378.

Sugar Ray's hits include "Fly," "Every Morning," "Falls Apart," "Someday" and "When it's Over."

Everclear is best known for the songs "Santa Monica," "Father of Mine," "Wonderful," "AM Radio" and "I Will Buy You a New Life." The group released their ninth studio effort, Black is the New Black, in 2015.

Lit's 1999 sophomore album, A Place in the Sun, spawned the singles "My Own Worst Enemy," "Miserable" and "Zip-Lock."

Sponge's popular tunes include "Molly," "Plowed," and "Wax Ecstatic." The Detroit natives headlined Allentown's Crocodile Rock Cafe in 2009.

Everclear, Sugar Ray and Lit were part of the inaugural Summerland Tour, which stopped in 2012 at neighboring Sands Bethlehem Event Center. That tour was rounded out by Gin Blossoms and Marcy Playground. In June 2015, the Summerland Tour returned to Sands and featured performances by Everclear, Fuel, Toadies and American Hi-Fi.
