Comedian Tyler Rothrock has found himself in some pretty famous company.

The Nazareth native's album, Tyler of Nazareth PA, this week debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Top Stand Up Comedy Chart -- a spot ahead of Lewis Black's Black to the Future. (Rodney Carrington's Here Comes the Truth! is sitting at No. 7.)

Tyler of Nazareth was recorded in June at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. The album was released on Lopatcong Township-based comedian Glen Tickle's Circus Trapeze Records label.

"It's cool to see your name on a site like that. It means I have a lot of great family and friends," Rothrock said Tuesday.

This is the second time in a little more than a year in which a local comedian has landed on the Billboard charts. In August 2016, Tickle's debut recording, (Yes Really), reached No. 13 on the Comedy Albums chart.

"When Billboard contacted me last year to say my album charted, I genuinely thought it was a prank," Tickle said. "I learned a lot about how the process works from doing my own album, and I'm glad I could use that to help Tyler. And since I produced the album, I don't have to be jealous that he hit No. 8 and I only hit No. 13."

Circus Trapeze Records will also release Bethlehem-based comedian Jason J. Brown's forthcoming debut stand-up album, Jokes Through the Bathroom Door.
