Dave Doll is a festive mood and he hopes fans of The Beautiful Distortion will walk away with that same fuzzy feeling when the group performs its annual holiday concert in Nazareth.

The band will perform Dec. 16 at the Nazareth Center for the Arts. Start time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $8.

Doll said the show will be split between original music and traditional Christmas tunes, but with a twist. "We Three Kings," "O Holy Night" and "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" are among the holiday jams the band plans on kicking out during the show. "We definitely do them differently than you've heard them before," the group's vocalist-guitarist said of the covers selection during a Tuesday phone call. "People are familiar with the songs but genuinely curious as to what we're going to do with them."

The Beautiful Distortion, Doll said, originally performed a holiday-themed acoustic set during the Christkindlmarkt celebration in Bethlehem. Eventually the band relocated the show to the Nazareth Arts Center.

"When we did it last year the place was packed," Doll said. "People seemed to be enjoying us doing Christmas stuff."

The holiday concert coincides with the release of the Bethlehem-based rock band's Christmas album, Merry Christmas ... Or Else, which dropped today on iTunes and on the band's website.
