Easton-based rock band Dear Anna are kicking off the new year with new music.

The quartet on Friday released the single, “Hips & Lips.”

Driven by a thumping drum beat, the track is an alluring, well-crafted blend of crunchy modern rock and radio-ready pop.

“The way famous people look at you, the things you say you’re gonna do, Your hips and lips, my heroin,” howls singer-guitarist Lorenzo Bubba atop a wall of distortion.

Dear Anna is rounded out by drummer Troy Ritter, bassist James Frank, and lead guitarist Ben Lang. On Feb. 2, the band will open for national recording artist The Spill Canvas at One Centre Square in Easton.
